Nexedi offers internships for students or future engineers interested in open source software with possible employment at the end of the internship. The content of each internship is adapted to each personality and to the duration of the internship.

These internship topics can also be the first mission when hiring a confirmed developer on a permanent contract who is already heavily involved in the field of open source software.

For this postion, we would like to extend the distance of babel routing protocol used in our re6st resilient hybrid mesh network.

Babel can be used to measure latency and find low latency routes in a network. However, babel does not take into account the actual nature of nodes (do they forward packets or not?) and the actual nature of links (do they transmit packets or not?). The goal of this topic is first to extend pabel to take into account nodes that do not forward packets and links that do not transmit packets when finding the optimium route in a network.

In a second step, we would like to integrate and test the sroamd simpe roaming daemon that can ensure that a mobile node keeps its IP address as it moves from one WiFi access point to another. We have ten 5G network simulators in Lille and ten 5G terminal simulators on which we want to deploy sroamd integrated in re6st before deploying it on a real test network in Kigali.
