Mynij Milestones 1 and 2: what is the limit of flexsearch?
We already know that we can have in Mynij an index of all bee species, of which there are 20 thousand. But what about the 150 million different references in Amazon. Can they fit inside Mynij, ie. inside the web browser's RAM and storage on a typical smartphone?

What can Mynij become useful for?
Mynij is an experimental personal search engine implemented as a progressive web application. It can add fast indices to public web sites, provide focused results on specialised content such as education, complement product search engines with new business models and circumvent the growing censorship in public search engines.

Mynij Milestone 4: Torrent sharing of Index
A user can now decide to enable torrent sharing. The Mynij PWA can become a seeder of an index. Another user with the index Magnet Uri can download the torrent from the seeding browser directly. Indexed can now be shared without having to go through a central platform subject to content sharing restrictions.

Consequences of the CJEU/CNIL decision on HDH
Due to Shrems II ruling by the CJUE, using US or China clouds to process or store personal data of EU residents could be illegal. Practical solution to mitigate legal risks combines local hosting by independent companies and global orchestration without access to data.

Recent trends in process isolation technologies
Efficient process isolation and portability is still an open problem. Technologies such as ZeroVM which provided a brilliant solution are no longer maintained. Alternatives are emerging: V8: Isolates, Firecracker, gVisor, OSv. Which one could make sense in the context of Nexedi stack?

Are Linux containers stable enough for production and why Nexedi uses SlapOS nano-containers instead ?
Nexedi does not use LXC containers or docker because it is impossible to ensure their stable operation especially in case of kernel ABI mismatch or missing containerisation of system calls. Instead, we use SlapOS nano-containers which have provided since 2010 similar benefits in a more stable way while using less resources. SlapOS nano-containers will soon be deployed on embedded device using Elbe embedded Linux with over-the-air (OTA) upgrade and secure boot.

Using an /e/ phone as a desktop or laptop
Not so much work remains to be done to turn /e/ into a desktop operating system. Using an /e/ smartphone as a desktop PC with an external screen, keyboard and mouse is already possible with good usability. Using an /e/ smartphone as a laptop is also possible with scrcpy although some minor improvements are still required for usability.
