Wendelin: new 0.4 alpha announced

Wendelin has just announced the new 0.4 alpha release. This release focuses on reducing installation time for Debian 8.1 (64bit) while also fixing a number of performance bugs and providing a fully functional development instance able to run live tests and allowing anyone to develop on top of Wendelin. This post also introduces the Wendelin research project, technical stack and provides a short tutorial on how to get started using Wendelin.

ERP5: Open Source ERP Optimized for Thuraya IP

For an ongoing project we were required to run ERP5 on remote locations in China with no reliable internet access. We gave Thuraya a try, which provides internet access using their satellite broadband terminals and used a RenderJS-based HTML5 offline-capable ERP5 interface which stores and synchronizes data using jIO and runs on NayuOS ensuring a minimum of data being sent up- and downstream.

OfficeJS: Nexedi releases HTML5 Jabber Client

Nexedi is a member of the Open PaaS research project aiming to develop an open-source alternative to Google Docs and other similar cloud-based solutions for communication and collaboration. As part of Open PAAS Nexedi has just released a new version of our XMPP Jabber Client on Officejs.com adding offline contact chat history availability and improved error handling.

Extracurriculars: Competition de Crêpes

The last days of July also were Ayush's last days of his traineeship in Lille and since we had talked "crêpes" on several occasions we decided to organize an afterwork competition with all nationalities facing off for a proper farewell bid to Ayush. Team Canada was crowned the eventual winner in a competition that showed Nexedians from all over the world to be just as innovative on the crêpes machine as when developing.

Trainee Day: Coasting the Côte d'Opale

Last week we took this summer's group of trainees for a weekend trip to the Côte d'Opale - including hassle-full, early morning train traversals, bumper-car-your-trainee-colleague and camping with rain and fireworks. A weekend well spent.
