Aide et Action, International NGO, has implemented an exemplary
financial management through a worldwide deployment of the Open
Source ERP5 software package using SlapOS technology.
Paris (France), Dakar (Senegal), Geneva (Switzerland)- January, 11th 2011 – Under the direction of Claire Calosci, Aide et Action International, the non-governmental organisation focused on achieving access to quality education for all, has reached a major milestone on its road toward excellence in its financial management thanks to the worldwide deployment of new version of ERP5 adapted to the specific needs of NGOs. Except 3 countries in South Asia (India, Nepal and Sri Lanka) that will change their financial management in 2012, all other Aide et Action entities located in 24 countries all over the world have migrated their accounting and budget management to ERP5 for the financial year 2011. Fifty accountants with different cultures and languages are now sharing a single financial management system accessed through the web.
Sabine Boyé-Gonçalves, General Secretary of Aide et Action
International, says : "Aide et Action has
grown steadily in the past 30 years and has become a large
international NGO. The deployment of a central financial management
solution accessible online by all our teams increases greatly our
productivity and especially when it comes to consolidation of accounts and
budgets at regional or international levels. The ERP5 application
allows us also to improve our steering thanks to reliable financial
information that stays up to date in real time. A global review of our
internal processes has been conducted in parallel with the deployment of
ERP5 leading to a set of new best practices for our
Thierry Brettnacher, Nexedi Project Director, adds : "The Aide et Action daily operations are generating many internal transactions involving
different regional entities of the NGO. In order to be able to get
reliable instant consolidations of accounts and budgets it is thus
quite important to get these intra-group transactions reflected synchronously in
the accounting of each entity. The ERP5 application implements
a generic solution to this thanks to so-called "internal accounting
transactions". An internal transaction covers simultaneously
the accounting of a sale transaction for one party and the accounting of the corresponding purchase transaction for the other party. A dedicated workflow ensures successive validations of the internal transaction by the parties."
Jean Bruma who assisted Aide et Action in the project ownership as consultant at AMAREXIA declares : "ERP5 has been identified quickly by the Aide et Action project team as the best solution to implement the new financial management system. The list of software packages that are affordable for a NGO like Aide et Action and that can meet the complex requirements of the financial management of wide international organisations is rather short. ERP5 is also fully inline with the cloud-based strategy of Aide et Action International in terms of its IT infrastructure"
Jean-Paul Smets, CEO of Nexedi, concludes : "The Aide et Action project gave us the opportunity to interface ERP5 with Jedox Palo, the Open Source OLAP reporting engine. Thanks to this integration of ERP5 and Jedox Palo, the financial controllers of Aide et Action can design and run their own financial dashboards and consolidated budget reports without having to get trained to a new tool. The Jedox Palo plugins available for different office suites allow to extend a standard spreadsheet into an interactive and powerful reporting solution. Dynamic aggregations of budgets combining all possible analytical dimensions managed in ERP5 become possible in a few clicks thanks to a short set of additional spreadsheet functions."
